Yakisoba is Chinese noodles stir-fried with pork, seafood, or vegetables. In Japan, “Sauce Yakisoba” made with Worcestershire sauce is popular, and there are also variants such as “Shio(salt) Yakisoba”.
In this article, we will introduce a simple recipe using “Maruchan Yakisoba”, a well-known Japanese yakisoba. It can be cooked low in fat by using less fatty meat.

Ingredients (per serving)
150g(1serving) Maruchan Yakisoba
1bag of accompanying powdered sauce
60g lean pork thigh
30g cabbage
20g carrots
50g bean sprouts
60ml water
1tsp vegetable oil
How to cook
- Cut carrots into thin slices. Cut cabbage into pieces. Wash bean sprouts and drain in a colander.
- Cut the pork into bite-sized pieces. Heat the vegetable oil in a frying pan and fry the cut pork until both sides are browned.
- Add carrots, cabbage, and bean sprouts, in that order, and stir-fry.
- Place the noodles on top of the vegetables and pour water over the noodles. Stir-fry while loosening the noodles until the water evaporates.
- Turn the heat down to low, add the powdered sauce that comes with it, and mix well.
- Finish by placing on a plate.
